Beta details:
Features:

* Game-style clock with 20 themes/background styles… and counting!
* Analog, digital, and “low-state” clocks. Some are more conventional, some resemble game screenshots, and some are more experimental, artistic, or puzzle-like.

* Theoretically power-efficient? (But I don’t have hardware yet to test.) It’s doing nearly nothing in between minutes—except the buttons are active.
* Use the d-pad and crank as a fidget toy: play with the time and see how each clock works. Each clock also has its own (A) button fidget function.

* FPS set to 10, and the update loop does nothing except refresh the 1-minute timer that awaits the next change, and check if the battery is at 35% or below.
* Some clocks include the date and day of the week. Digital clocks support both 12- and 24-hour time.

* It prevents sleep—unless it reaches 35% power, and then the default 60-second sleep is enabled.
* Gallery grid to quickly preview the clocks, each with its own customization settings and explanation of how to read the time.

* Crank to wind the clock forward back (1 hour per revolution).
* Ideally used while the Playdate is charging, but designed to be efficient enough to run for hours on battery as well. Some clocks have an on-screen battery meter, which shows the % number whether plugged in or not.

* Dock crank to resume timekeeping.
* Automatically prevents system sleep until the battery reaches a level of your choosing. Then it reverts to the system’s built-in low-power sleep clock.

* D-pad up/down to change minutes manually. (Timekeeping resumes at the next minute to prevent accidentally messing up the time and not knowing!)
* Launches the same as any Playdate game. Your chosen clock, and your settings for all clocks, are remembered for next launch.

* D-pad left/right to change hours manually.
* Extensive built-in documentation with embedded illustrations, in a large, readable font.

* A to cycle Hour-only, Minutes-only, or Both (this helps you learn to see the digits).
* Check for updates by pointing your phone camera at the screen.

* B to cycle through themes—your choice is saved and restored. (But I have bigger plans for turning this into a product for sale some day: other kinds of weird clocks, unrelated to this one—so then B would take you to a gallery of all the clock choices.)
* Display colors invert briefly twice an hour (or just once a day if you prefer, or from midnight to noon) to avoid image retention, just in case that might be a possibility with this hardware.

* System Menu option to cycle three different digit shapes (only 1s, 4, and 7s are affected).
* Musical interface sounds.

* The minute digits are easy to see—and so are the hour digits once you know what to look for! Depending on the chosen style, the time can be quicly readable—or a bit of a puzzle. The ENTIRE SCREEN is a big hour number:
