OTTO FROTTO (V/O)
You know, I love this show sometimes. Do you know what you have here?
GUEST
To be honest, no. I got it off some teenager who'd snuck into the Observatory.
I figured it'd be best if I took it off her hands in case it was stolen, or something. Is it dangerous?
OTTO
It's certainly unique. And here in this object, we have a fragment of the Bend.
GUEST
The Bend? Like, the bend-Bend? Oh, wow.
OTTO
Mmm, that's right. When the bend appeared, researchers at the GCC sent a probe to capture and sample its matter for analysis. The Bend is extremely volatile, but it was discovered that it could actually be maintained in stasis if immobilized in high-density gravitational glycerite.
It should stay stable like this for a long time. But who knows what's going on in there at a subatomic level?
GUEST
Gosh, I thought it was just a paperweight.
OTTO
Well, it's also a paperweight. Yeah.
Many hands keep pointing to the bend fragment.
