Well, here's something a bit more contemporary, but it's really one of those things that makes you realize how quickly things change. I remember having one of these, and it seems not that long ago. If you've never seen one, this is a first generation PeeDee.

OTTO (CONT'D)

We have it here today on loan from Ned Telson's personal collection of vintage electronic communications devices. Ned, what a treat.

NED TELSON (V/O)

Thanks, Otto. It is the gem of my collection.

OTTO

Does it still work?

NED

The components all work, but there's no signal for it to pick up anymore. Since Blippo switched to subspace after the second generation PeeDee.

OTTO

Oh. That's right. So this one is analog?

NED

Effectively, yes. But it's still remarkable. It was actually partially the inspiration for my YASSOU protocol. I wanted to find a way to intercept consciousness particles and the scanning function on the PeeDee got me thinking: why not scan dark matter itself?

Many hands keep pointing to the PeeDee.
