Nurse ECHO stares off into space.

NURSE ECHO (V.O.)

Married? They barely know each other. And if I can't have Doctor Ditto, then no one can. All it would take is a few drops in her murk, and nobody would be the wiser.

The ECG monitor goes flat. Beeeeeeep...

SURGEON SIMS

Nurse Echo! Are you with us? I said hand me the cardiopumpulator!

Nurse Echo jolts back to reality.

NURSE ECHO

Yes, Doctor!

Echo hands Sims defibrillator paddles. Sims places them on the patient.

SURGEON SIMS

Charging to 3, 2, 1. Clear!

The hum of the cardiopumpulator suddenly warbles down. Only the long beep of the ECG remains.

NURSE ECHO

Wait! Here. It's...not plugged in? Try again.

Surgeon Sims goes for another defib.

SURGEON SIMS

Charging to 360. 3, 2, 1, clear!

Patient Kiki Carbon bolts upright, eyes wide open, gasping for air, only to immediately fall back onto the pillow.

SURGEON SIMS (CONT'D)

She's okay. Nurse Gemini, you saved her.

[Stinger:] The camera zooms in on Nurse Gemini, her expression a mix of guilt and confusion.
