Greetings, thinkers, it's Ned. Let's get right down to business. My guest today is my mentor, the physicist Taffy Rompler.

He slides over to a brain in a jar. The brain wears glasses.

NED (CONT'D)

Taffy and I have been conferencing for years on important science matters. And seeing as we're in a planetary crisis, I thought let's go ahead and game things out.

Ned taps the jar with his microphone.

NED (CONT'D)

Taffy: The Bend.

TAFFY ROMPLER

I always theorized it might be possible for an anomaly with significant mass to bend space and time in such a way-

They're going to love this.

TAFFY

That it would not only disrupt the temporal and perceptual continuum-

TAFFY

-but in the process bring discrete points in space into direct contact with one another.

NED

Check! Theory verified, Taff.

TAFFY

I wish I could see it in person.

TED

Question is where it comes from.

TED

And what kind of aliens put it there.

TAFFY

Wait, what?

TED

Ugh, you really are a TV scientist.

TED

(grinning into the camera)
