MediaWiki Help
The Playdate Community Wiki is powered by MediaWiki where you can find extensive help pages covering everything from the basics of editing pages to advanced formatting.
Adding a Game Page
To create a game page start by simply search for the full title of the game. If a page doesn't already exist you'll be given the option to create one by clicking a red link like This One. Before doing so make sure you've spelt it correctly, and check the search results in case a page has already been created for the game under a slightly different name!
The easiest way to create a game page is to copy the layout from an existing game such as this page for Lolife. Click edit, copy the source to your new page, and simply adapt the content and layout as needed.
A typical game page includes a short description, an infobox with some key art and release information, more detailed sections covering areas such as development, accessibility, hints or trivia, and a gallery containing screenshots from the game. Information should be referenced where possible and external links to the game are encouraged.
Categorising the Game
Categories are used to organise game pages on the wiki according to storefront, genre and other aspects. All game pages should at least be in the Games category. You can add categories like this (typically at the bottom of the page after the rest of the page content):

Adding an Infobox
To add an infobox add the following line at the top of your page and edit it accordingly:

Infobox: This is the name of the wiki template - don't change it!image: Upload an image to the wiki then change this to the file name.release date: Release date, typically inyyyy-mm-ddformat.developer: The name of the developer.store link: A link to the game, typically on Catalog and/or itch.io.file size: The file size of the installed game e.g. 320KB, 8MB.
Adding a Walkthrough
To create a spoiler-friendly walkthrough like this:
Expanded walkthrough goes here.
Copy and amend the following:
<div class="toccolours mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" overflow:auto;"> <div style="font-weight:bold;line-height:1.6;">Spoiler warning! This line is always visible.</div> <div class="mw-collapsible-content"> Expanded walkthrough goes here. </div></div>
